At Noughty, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s at the core of everything we do. That’s why we partnered with Cleanhub and sponsored their Clean Kerala Project in Konad for an inspiring two-day educational workshop focused on fostering community connection, creativity, and environmental responsibility.
This hands-on event engaged 28 local children, teaching them how small actions can spark meaningful change, both for their community and the planet.
Here's what they got up to:
Day 1: Creative Upcycling and Theatre Games
The first day was all about blending creativity with purpose. Through fun and interactive theatre games, the children explored teamwork, problem-solving, and the importance of community collaboration.
Then came the upcycling challenge! Using discarded materials like paper waste and plastic bags, the kids let their imaginations run wild, creating practical items like baskets and pen stands. This hands-on activity wasn’t just fun—it reinforced the idea that waste can be reimagined into something beautiful and useful.
Day 2: Community Clean-Up and the Power of Circular Economy
On the second day, we took the lessons out into the real world with a local clean-up drive. Armed with gloves and determination, the children collected waste from their community, experiencing firsthand how collective action can create a cleaner, more vibrant environment.
To celebrate their incredible efforts, each child received an upcycled cloth bag, made by the talented team at Green Worms Textile Recovery Facility. These bags weren’t just practical but a tangible reminder of the value of sustainable practices and a circular economy.
Why Initiatives Like This Matter
This workshop wasn’t just about cleaning streets or crafting upcycled goods—it was about planting the seeds of change. By engaging children in activities that promote sustainability, community connection, and waste reduction, we’re helping to build a generation that sees value where others see waste.
At Noughty, we believe that small changes can create a ripple effect. From encouraging creative thinking to demonstrating actionable steps for a cleaner future, this workshop showcased the power of education to drive real-world impact.
